[Assessment Book Review] 看图作文一本通 Effective Guidebook for Picture Composition

Buy online at Victoria.com.sgI bought this Chinese compo guidebook from Popular: 看图作文一本通 Effective Guidebook for Picture Composition

While browsing at Popular, I thought it looked good, so I bought it. When I was going through it with J, I realised it's really really good!  Each story comes with the compo pictures, helping words, guide, and 2 versions of compo: a simpler one and a "upgraded" version.

I read the shorter one, and made J read out the longer one. We always read aloud compo to practise her oral as well.

After reading both versions one after another,  we compared and discussed on how the compo was improved and what she can do if she's writing similar compo.

It's definitely a good buy!!

[Assessment Book Review] Creative Writing For Primary 3 & 4 English

Creative Writing For Primary 3 & 4 English by CPD Singapore

I bought this book and I thought I should share it because the content is really good!

The content is really to P3 - P4 standard, easy to understand and learn, and of course, to absorb.

Previously, being kiasu, I will want to buy books that have content that are more difficult or higher level, so that I will feel my money well-spent, or consider them "good". But I later realised that because they are more difficult, J has no interest in them as they are more difficult to understand. I ended up chucking the books aside and wait till the moment is right to take out the books again.

Now I've learnt to only buy books suitable for her level, sometimes even easier ones, so that they will helps her to gain confidence in learning them.

The content of this book is not hard to understand, yet have many nice sample sentences that can help a P3-4 student to write composition beautifully. It also comes with some exercises to enable students to put what they have learnt into use.

Below are some sample pages I took from the book:
